Kindred Senior Medical Advisor Dr. William Mills to Present at Healthimpact Southwest

Kindred Healthcare, Inc. (“Kindred” or the “Company”) today announced that Dr. William Mills, Senior Medical Advisor to Kindred and Chief Executive Officer of Chronic Care Management, LLC, will present March 24 at HealthImpact Southwest in Houston, a collaborative forum for national leaders in healthcare technology.

Dr. Mills will discuss how healthcare organizations can leverage “connected health” – such as remote patient monitoring and telemedicine as part of a chronic care management program – to enhance access to quality care, improve care transitions and reduce hospital readmissions.

During the session, Dr. Mills will draw on his experience as the founder of Western Reserve Senior Care, now part of Kindred House Calls, a home-based primary care practice that cares for vulnerable populations, as well as his current role leading Chronic Care Management, a provider of cloud-based comprehensive care plans.

Healthcare technology is playing an increasingly central role in facilitating goal-directed, quality, seamless care,” said Dr. Mills. “While many organizations continue to struggle with providing timely, cost-effective care to patients with multiple chronic conditions, we are seeing high levels of success from those who utilize a combination of high-touch and high-tech tactics. Cloud-based technologies interwoven into integrated primary, specialty, acute and post-acute care networks can provide excellent patient and provider-facing platforms that enable cost-effective care delivery to patients at risk of high morbidity, mortality and utilization.”

HealthImpact Southwest takes place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 24. For more information, visit the event website at http://purposeevents.com/events/healthimpact-southwest-2016.
